BATON ROUGE, La. —The mandatory vasectomy bill passed committee at the state capitol Thursday. HB 166 would require convicted sex offenders to undergo a mandatory vasectomy procedure. The author of the bill, Rep. Delisha Boyd, says this is a measure to help protect women.
Rep. Boyd also wrote a bill to reduce penalties for possession or use of marijuana drug paraphernalia, proposing the offender should not be fined more than $100.
This is confusing. Vasectomies? Not that I’m condoning it, but wouldn’t castration make more sense, or do vasectomies lead to ED or something I don’t know about? I don’t see how this has the slightest potential to accomplish anything. They might as well remove an eye or a toe (I wouldn’t condone this either btw).
What does the ability to have children have anything to do with the desire to have sex? this solves nothing. just punitive.
Isn’t this a sexist bill? Where’s the equal protection for men with women being impacted? Can’t women assault women?
Is this the same Delisha Boyd that gave the speech a few years ago on criminal justice “reform?” Ohhh… the irony…
Why don’t they just mandate transgender surgery and remove the man’s penis all together. I’m sure THAT would solve the problem. 🤪🤯
Since their intent is genocide vasectomies make perfect sense.
News flash. A vasectomy does nothing to curb sexual libido. All it does is prevent a man from getting a woman pregnant. I speak from experience since I had a vasectomy a few months after my daughter was born because we only wanted one child.
I don’t understand how this can “protect” women from being assaulted since the procedure does absolutely nothing to prevent a guy from “getting it up”.
Welcome back eugenics,! Where have you been all these years? Oh that’s right, you were discredited as a pseudoscience, then had virtually all of your practices outlawed… then there was that whole Nazi connection…. hard to live that down .
We’ve been declared “Unfit for breeding”. They want to eliminate our “corrupt characteristics”, so we can’t pass them on to a future generation! All part of creating a better society by eliminating undesirable generic traits!
Seriously straight up Nazi stuff. They didn’t invent it, but oh how they loved it!
Eugenics… look into this past, and know by doing so you are gazing into our futures?
First of all – it won’t do anything to stop sexual assault. Number two – does it mean ALL convicted sex offenders and that includes people who got caught urinating in public (if there is a law in LA that criminalizes that), and teenage kids sexting as well?
Still think this is a trojan horse to reintroduce Eugenics back into the “Justice system”. Look into it if you aren’t familiar. Wiki has a fair enough overview to give you enough.
However could it be all about…. Abortion? LA is looking at some pretty serious restrictions on in Abortion. Looks like it will restricted to just certain exceptions. One of those exceptions might be Rape. This is a grandstanding attempt to be all things to all people?
“Yes, rape will be an exception, but we will eliminate that need by sterilizing all the Sex Witches! Once all of them are sterilized, no one will ever need an abortion for rape ever again!”
Too far out there? I’ve stretched this so far, it broke?
Too bad Rep. Delisha Boyd’s father didn’t opt to have a vasectomy prior to her conception!
“Rationally related” needs to be rethought. What is rationally? When moral panic ensues, rational departs. That’s the state we are in currently. Things are going to get incredibly bad. They will be rounding people up for execution because it is rationally related to public safety. Don’t think it can’t happen, it absolutely can. Rationally, xyz poses a risk, so the government can take the least restrictive means to achieve the desired result of mitigating that risk. If the sex offender registry does not mitigate the risk, then the government may chose to eliminate the registry or impose more restrictive measures, that better serve the interests. Such as…,,,,,Do not think it can’t happen, it can.
Fun fact, eugenics took place in America before being exacted by the Nazis in the 30’s. Consider our past here in America, and consider what the future may bring.

Good luck giving a female offender a vasectomy.
Vasectomies don’t prevent someone from having sex it’s the male version of birth control. Did Louisiana lawmakers not pay attention in sex ed?
